Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled gardener to join our Gardens team. The role will involve looking after the grounds and wider Estate at Sledmere as well as working in our acclaimed two and a half acre Walled Garden.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for horticulture and landscape maintenance who enjoys working outdoors and has experience with a wide range of gardening techniques.
Job will include grass-cutting using tractors, ride-on and pedestrian mowers, hedge-cutting, edging, strimming, chainsaw work and machine maintenance as well as undertaking a wide range of horticultural tasks including propagation, planting, pruning, border maintenance, feeding and watering.
We are looking for a team player with a can-do attitude. Applicants must be prepared to work outside in all weathers and be physically fit. To ensure high horticultural standards and presentation are maintained, the successful candidate neesds to have a strong eye for detail. A genuine passion for working outdoors and enhancing natural environments
Proven experience in grounds maintenance and horticulture
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Competent in the use of ride-on mowers as well as pedestrian equipment
Proficiency in using and maintaining tools and garden machinery safely and effectively
Full driving licence

Also desirable, but not essential:

Proficiency in the use of tractors and tractor mounted implements
Chainsaw crosscutting and maintenance certificate
PA1 and PA6 certificates

Pay: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
